Après la série de test, le questionnaire est enfin prêt pour envoi. Il est transmis par PPM aux membres des trois secteurs de l'UIT ainsi qu'aux prospects.

Le questionnaire est disponible en ligne ici.

Voici le mail de couverture:

==========

Dear ITU Sector Member,

The ITU has established a long tradition of on-line surveys to address issues of interest to the membership, such as quality of ITU services, Study Group questionnaires, etc.

We are pleased to announce today the launch of a new series of yearly surveys, of a wider nature, aiming at analyzing the impact of the introduction of ICTs in the business environment.

The 2009 questionnaire focuses on two issues: work/life balance and friendly spam:

- How do organizations address the modification of work/life balance araising from the development and introduction of mobile and ubiquitous ICT services and devices?

- How do organizations address the increase in friendly spam, e.g. of unsolicited mail received from "friendly sources" such as colleagues, partners, customers and alike?

These two questions will be analyzed in view of the responses received from ITU Sector Membership as well as from companies with whom we are in contact (deadline for responses 23 December 2009) and a report will be presented to the upcoming meeting of the Telecommunication Development Advisory Group (TDAG) in February 2010.

Your timely participation will be highly appreciated.

=================

Dear colleagues and friends,

you have been kind enough to accept my invitation to answer to a questionnaire in the framework of my DBA. As most of you already know (thanks to the doctoral seminars for several of you), my research focuses on e-mail, and more precisely on friendly spam.

I have defined friendly spam as unsolicited e-mail originated by "friendly" sources, e.g. by sources that can't be properly filtered by spam filters. In the professional environment, these sources include co-workers, supervisors, supervisees, partners, etc.

With this questionnaire, I am trying to evaluate how organizations answer, at the policy level, to the following questions:

1) How do organizations address the issue of the impact of the usage of electronic communications on their employees' work/life balance?
2) How do organizations manage, at a policy level, the usage of electronic communications in the professional environment.

By providing input to this questionnaire, both by answering to it on-line and by providing me with your direct feedback, you will help me finalizing the questionnaire and fine-tuning the questions. This pre-test is in my view a significant milestone in the preparation of the final questionnaire, which will be distributed early December to 500+ organizations in the ICT sector.

I am therefore already extremely thankful to all of you who have accepted to contribute to my research. I also seize this opportunity to thank (and congratulate!) the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), which is hosting this on-line survey, as well as the colleagues of my team, who are contributing to this work.

The questionnaire is available at this url:

http://www.itu.int/ITU-D/CDS/gq/generic/questionnaire.asp...

It goes without saying that your input will remain confidential.

You may note that, with a view to separating the different roles of my compound identity (!), I have created a specific e-mail account for my DBA research. Please be kind enough to use this address for all issues in relation with this questionnaire.

Once again, I thank you very much.

With my best regards,
